Making
a baby registry is almost as much fun as making a list of dreams, but this time
you get them ALL!!! Becky and I had an appointment with the baby doctor one
afternoon and after, we decided to go and scan some items at a few stores; Buy
Buy Baby, Target, and Babies R Us. Becky said “lets scan a couple items to get
the gift car that they were offering (my wife LOVES saving money) We have
been stocking up on diapers when Target has their gift card sale, if you buy
100 dollars of select baby product you get a 25-dollar gift card...SCORE. My
wife LOVES Target, but mostly she loves to save money, did I say that already, I
love that. The deal was if you make a baby registry and get a $20.00 gift card.
So I tried to document the fun time at Target as much as I could. That place
has so many things stuffed into its baby sections, there was things I have
never heard of, but people swear by them, like the spatula for diaper rash
cream…a spatula? Seriously a silicone “diaper cream applicator” or the
abundance of shampoos and the lotions. I believe we had such a great time we
lost track of items scanned, a few went to 82 really quick.
I know this blog is about becoming a father, but i have to say that without Moms there would not be Dads so I just wanted
to say HAPPY MOTHER’S Day to all the mothers and soon to be mothers out there.
I have told all the mothers in my life Happy Mother’s Day, but the one that is
extra special, is my wife Becky!! This year has been awesome and is only going
to get better.
I am not going to lie, I know NOTHING about taking care of a
baby, but having my awesome wife and her brains I knew I would be ok. When my
wife Becky told me we were pregnant, she did so by having my open a package
that had come for me that Sunday morning. I brought it in and then opened it, there
they were, some Dad books, to be specific DADA, My Boys Can Swim,
and my personal favorite Dude You’re Gonna Be A DAD! I have read each of
these books a few different times in the last six months, they have answered
the dumb or embarrassing questions I have had and didn’t want to ask my wife or
Siri. I have learned a ton from these books, but after talking to a good friend
the words “that shit you read goes out the window when the baby is here”. He also
said I could call with the dumbest questions, stating that he had probably had
to asked for himself at one point. I would say to the first time dads to read
books, watch YouTube tutorials and, learn as much as you can because when the
baby arrives it’s GO TIME!!!!
